He's funny and I liked many points he made...
on the other hand....
He assumes theories (like evolution) as if they were unobjectionable laws and despise others (such as faith) as if they were just nonsenses product of barbarism and the resign of thinking. Of course there's nothing new or innovative on that statement. And after reading something of Aquina's work or even Ratzinger's latest encyclica, resign of thinking may not be the case when we deal with faith.
Posner once wrote, referring to the so-called public intellectuals, that when someone who's very succesful and recognized in one particular field, assumes that he has the authority (moral and intellectual) to speak in any other, at the very least we have to keep our critical eye tuned and always be cautious not falling that easy in the authority fallacy...
